Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the rental services provided by NP Plant and Tool Hire ("we," "our," "us") to you ("the Hirer"). By booking and using our services, you agree to comply with these Terms.
1. Definitions
- Hirer: The person or business hiring equipment from us.
- Equipment: Tools, plant machinery, and other items available for hire.
- Hire Period: The agreed period during which the Hirer is responsible for the equipment.
2. Booking and Payment
- Deposit: A refundable security deposit is required for certain items, as displayed on the booking page.
- Payment:
- Full payment is required in advance.
- Accepted payment methods:
- Online: Stripe and PayPal.
- In-store: Cash or card.
- Late Returns: Equipment returned after the agreed hire period will incur an additional charge equal to the single-day hire rate per tool, per day.
3. Hire Period
- The hire period starts:
- Upon delivery of the equipment to the Hirer, or
- Upon collection by the Hirer from our store.
- The hire period ends when the equipment is returned to us in the same condition as it was provided, subject to normal wear and tear.
4. Delivery and Collection
- Delivery Area:
- We deliver within a 25-mile radius of our store.
- Delivery is free within Ollerton and charged at £25 for all other areas.
- The Hirer is responsible for:
- Providing accurate delivery details.
- Being present at the agreed delivery and collection times.
- Collection by Hirer: Equipment may also be collected from our store during business hours.
5. Customer Responsibilities
- Care and Maintenance:
- The Hirer must maintain and clean the equipment during the hire period.
- Normal wear and tear is acceptable, but the equipment must not be misused.
- Prohibited Activities:
- No modifications to the equipment are allowed.
- If equipment (e.g., a mini digger) becomes stuck, recovery is the responsibility of the Hirer.
- Safe Use:
- The Hirer is solely responsible for the safe and appropriate use of the equipment.
- Training is not provided.
6. Damage, Loss, and Liability
- Damage:
- Any damage to the equipment will be deducted from the security deposit.
- If the cost of repair exceeds the deposit, the Hirer will be billed for the difference.
- Loss or Theft:
- The Hirer is fully liable for lost or stolen equipment.
- For larger items (e.g., mini diggers), the Hirer must provide proof of insurance coverage.
- For smaller items, the replacement cost will be billed to the Hirer.
- Insurance:
- We do not provide insurance for the Hirer.
- We can recommend an insurance company if needed.
7. Cancellations and Refunds
- Full Refunds:
- Cancellations made with at least 24 hours’ notice before the start of the hire period will receive a full refund.
- Cancellation Fee:
- Cancellations made within 24 hours of the hire period start will incur a 20% cancellation charge.
8. Liability
- We are not liable for:
- Injuries, damages, or losses resulting from the misuse of the equipment.
- Delays caused by circumstances beyond our control (e.g., traffic, weather).
- The Hirer assumes full responsibility for the use of the equipment during the hire period.
9. Amendments
We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Updates will be posted on our website and will apply to bookings made after the updated Terms are published.
